Bigger, Bolder 2025 Buick Enclave Debuts

Buick on Tuesday announced a redesign of the Enclave, which will be introduced as a 2025 model year.

The new three-row midsize car will be the third generation of the name and will be available for order this summer. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.

According to Buick, the 2025 Enclave will be longer, wider, and taller than its predecessor, which should provide more interior space for passengers and luggage, but dimensions have not been disclosed.

The exterior design features an edgier, more sculpted look compared to that found on the current Enclave. Buick first previewed this look with the 2022 Wildcat EV Concept and then transferred it to production models such as the 2024 Envision and Envista compact crossovers and hatchbacks The 2025 Enclave, the last model for Buick.

The interior design would not resemble a luxury car, especially in its upscale Avenir guise. This design is highlighted by a floating 30-inch digital display that serves as the hub for the instrument cluster and infotainment. The center console also features a floating design and houses several controls as well as cup holders and a wireless cell phone charger.

Buyers can choose between the Preferred, Sport Touring, and the aforementioned Avenir grade, which includes a 12-speaker audio system, a surround-view camera system, power adjustable and heated front seats, and a power tailgate, Ambient Lighting Package, and 20-inch alloy wheels as standard equipment. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a wireless phone charger will also be standard. Available technology includes a heads-up display and General Motors' Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance system for highways. Offered as a subscription for the first three years, the system is being updated to cover 750,000 miles of U.S. and Canadian roads.

The only powertrain to be offered on the 2025 Enclave is a 2.5-liter turbo four with a rated output of 328 hp, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The output is an 18 hp improvement over the current Enclave's 3.6-liter V-6. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is also available. Maximum towing capacity is claimed to be 5,000 pounds.

Buick has not said whether it plans to electrify the Enclave with hybrid or electric options. Buick offers several electric vehicles in China, but none are yet available in the United States. Buick previously confirmed that it will sell two Ultium-based EVs in the U.S. by the end of 2024, both SUVs. Buick's full lineup is expected to consist of EVs as early as 2030.
