Volvo EX30 Cross Country debuts February 10.

The Volvo EX30 has finally begun deliveries in the United States. Only one model, the EX30 Twin Motor Performance, is currently available. However, more versions of this electric subcompact crossover are on the way, including a rugged model that bears Volvo's “Cross Country” name.

Volvo announced Monday that the EX30 Cross Country will debut at a special event in northern Sweden on February 10. The thinly veiled concept version will premiere in 2023, and the production model is expected to look very similar.

Upgrades include increased ground clearance, additional protective plastic cladding, unique 19-inch wheels with a black finish, and skid plates on the front, rear, and underbody sides. Also available will be 18-inch wheels with unique tires, Volvo said when the concept was unveiled.

The EX30 Cross Country's powertrain will likely be shared with the standard EX30, but following the more rugged ethos, the Cross Country could be dual-motor all-wheel drive only, rather than also offering the single-motor rear-wheel drive setup of the EX30.

Volvo has yet to announce U.S. sales of the EX30 Cross Country, but as is the case with other Volvo models offered in Cross Country guise, this model could be a popular choice among U.S. EX30 buyers.

The first batch of EX30s to arrive in the U.S., designated as 2025 models, came from a factory in China, incurring steep tariffs in the process. All are EX30 Twin Motor Performance models, with prices starting at $46,195 including a $1,295 destination charge.

Additional models will be introduced as Volvo begins production of the EX30 at its plant in Belgium later this year. The previously announced EX30 single motor, starting at $36,245 including destination charge, is planned along with the EX30 Cross Country.

All EX30 models are currently powered by a 69 kwh battery; the EX30 Twin Motor Performance has an estimated range of 253 miles based on the EPA test cycle. According to Volvo, the battery is capable of 153 kwh of charge capacity and can be charged from 10 to 80% in as little as 25 minutes under optimal conditions when using a compatible charger.
