Morgan unveils first look at new flagship coming in 2025

British sports car manufacturer Morgan is preparing to introduce a new flagship model to replace the Plus Six, which ceased production last year.

Morgan, known for its blend of classic design and modern engineering, is currently testing a prototype on public roads to fine-tune its new flagship model, which is scheduled to debut in the spring.

Photos of one of the prototypes show a clear evolution of Morgan's signature design, albeit fully wrapped in camouflage and appearing more minimalist and curvaceous in appearance.

The prototype is fitted with a hardtop roof, which, like the Plus Six, is likely to be removable. The six-cylinder engine, specifically a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six sourced from BMW, will also be carried over from the Plus Six. This engine produces 335 hp in the Plus Six.

Morgan said it developed an updated version of its CX-Generation platform for the Plus Six, which debuted in 2019. However, the company did not reveal what updates were made to the new platform, which is known as the CXV and retains its predecessor's bonded aluminum construction.

Morgan said the company would continue to provide information about the new flagship ahead of its spring debut.

The company did not say whether the car will be offered to customers in the U.S., but the recent launch of the Plus Four here suggests that the new flagship will also make the trip.
