2024 Audi Q6 RS E-Tron Spy Shots: High Profile Electric SUV Revealed

Audi's Q6 E-Tron has yet to be unveiled, but a hot version of the Audi Sport has already been publicly tested.

The latest spy shot prototype, caught recently testing on the Nürburgring race track in Germany, is the expected RS version of the Q6 E-Tron, likely to be called the Q6 RS E-Tron Audi Sport already has an RS E-Tron GT, an electric car offering in the form of the E-Tron GT.

A lowered suspension and upgraded wheel and tire package also make the latest prototype stand out from previous testers. The bright red brake calipers seen here are also a common design element on Audi RS cars.

The Q6 E-Tron is a fully electric SUV of the same size as the Q5. It is being developed on Volkswagen Group's new EV platform known as PPE, along with Porsche's electric Macan, promising 800-volt technology and a range of over 300 miles.

The Q6 E-Tron is expected to feature a 100 kwh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain, producing approximately 469 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque; the RS version should be closer to 600 hp, which is the dual motor system It is not known whether this will be via the dual motor system or the tri-motor system.

The Q6 E-Tron was supposed to be unveiled this year, but its debut is expected in early 2023; the RS version should be available in late 2023. Audi is also working on a more coupe-like Q6 Sportback E-tron, which should also get the RS treatment for its body style.

Production of the Q6 E-Tron series will take place at Audi's plant in Ingolstadt, Germany, which is being prepared for the production of PPE-based vehicles and batteries.

Audi has ambitious plans for EVs, aiming to have a lineup of 20 models by as early as 2025. It has already launched the E-Tron, E-Tron GT, and Q4 E-Tron, and will soon add the Q6 E-Tron and A6 E-Tron. the A8's electric successor will be unveiled in 2024 and go on sale in 2025. after 2026, Audi will launch only EVs EVs only.
