Dodge Charger and Challenger successors, 2023 Ford Maverick, 2023 Nissan Maxima: a week in reverse

The successors to the Dodge Charger and Challenger will be electric, the 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor will debut, and in 2023 the Nissan Maxima will come to an end. And in 2023, the Nissan Maxima will meet its demise.

Recent reports indicate that the successors to the Dodge Charger and Challenger will be electric-only vehicles, with no V-8 engine options. Hellcats are set to disappear after 2023, and V-8 engines are set to become extinct at Dodge. Electric muscle cars are slated to debut in 2024.

General Motors has hit back at dealers trying to raise prices on high-demand models. The automaker threatened to limit warranty transfers and withhold future allocations if dealers facilitated resales of certain hot models within 12 months of delivery.

The 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor debuted as the most off-road capable model in the light truck lineup with a raised ride height, all-terrain tires, and a twin-clutch all-wheel drive system. According to Ford, the off-road components do not adversely affect on-road drivability, payload capacity, or towing capacity.

Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton became part owner of the National Football League's Denver Broncos. Hamilton joins a group of owners who bought the Broncos in June for a record $4.65 billion.

The Nissan Maxima, at least in its current form, will run into the sunset after 2023. The automaker has told employees and suppliers that the sporty sedan will cease production in mid-2023, but it may return in the electric car era.
