Alfa Romeo Builds First Customer Model of Modern 33 Stradale

The first customer model of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was completed. [1966, the same day Italian designer and coachbuilder Franco Scaglione was commissioned to design the original 33 Stradale, of which only 18 were built between 1967 and 1969.

Its modern-day successor will be produced in a limited edition of 33. All buyers will be part of an exclusive group called Club 33. Club 33 was founded at the 2022 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix, when Alfa Romeo first announced plans for a supercar.

As a member of Club 33, buyers can meet with Alfa Romeo engineers and designers to assist in the development of the 33 Stradale and request personal innovations.

The 33 Stradale shares many similarities with the MC20 supercar from the same Sterantis brand, Maserati, including a carbon fiber chassis and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Alfa Romeo had actually been working on the car since late last decade, when it was scheduled to be launched as the successor to the 8C with a different design.

33 The Stradale's engine is a mid-mounted 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbo, which Alfa Romeo says is not the same engine as the MC20, which is also a 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbo, but rather a V-6 twin It is an evolution of the turbo. The output of the Alfa Romeo engine is 620 hp, which is comparable to the output of the Maserati engine. Drive is to the rear wheels only via an electronically controlled limited slip differential, and Alfa Romeo claims a 0-60 mph acceleration of under 3 seconds and a top speed of 207 mph.

Alfa Romeo also promises an electric powertrain for the 33 Stradale. At the time of last year's reveal, Alfa Romeo announced that the electric powertrain would deliver 750 hp. However, Alfa Romeo has not revealed whether any of the 33 buyers have opted for the electric powertrain. Maserati is also planning an electric version of the MC20.
