Alan Man Racing partners with the company to build Hyundai Ford RS200 and Mk1 Escorts

Alan Mann Racing in the UK has signed to become the high performance division of Boreham Motorworks, a British company working on a modern iteration of Ford's iconic RS200 and Mk1 Escort rally Brid machines.

Both companies are part of the DRVN Automotive Group, which operates a Koenigsegg dealer in London and provides restomod and restoration services for the Ferrari F355 and Jaguar E-Type.

Alan Mann Racing, or AMR for short, today specializes in the service and maintenance of classic road and race cars, especially Ford, but in recent years has expanded its business, including the development of electrical conversion of the original Ford Mustang.

AMR and Ford have a history dating back 60 years, including the Mk1 Escort race. AMR started as a British racing team in the 1960s and defended Ford at various events, including the Monte Carlo Rally, the Tour de France Car and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Among the drivers who raced for the AMR were legends such as Graham Hill, Jackie Ix, Jackie Stewart, Jack Brabham, Mario Andretti and Bruce McLaren.

AMR also contributed to the development of the GT40's lightweight body, with two examples created and raced at the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours, but both retired. Ford celebrated the partnership in 2022 with a special version of the modern GT supercar.

AMR has not said anything specific about what the new partnership with Boreham Motorworks will entail, but has confirmed that the first joint project will be announced in early 2025. There is no mention of the race.

1 Possibility could be the development of a hardcore, track-only version of Boreham Motorworks' latest RS200 and Mk1Escort. AMR is also known for organizing a new Boreham High Performance Club, a community for Ford enthusiasts that hosts events such as workshops, truck days and group driving tours.
