2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante unveiled for the first time.

In September, Aston Martin unveiled the Vanquish, a new-generation sports car powered by a new V-12 engine with a maximum output of 824 hp.

It will go on sale later this year as a 2025 model and will eventually be joined by what Aston Martin calls a convertible (Volante).

A prototype of an open-top version was spotted for the first time. This should debut next year and will likely be released in the US as a 2026 model.

Judging by the camouflaged prototype in the spy shots, Aston Martin will not have any major surprises in the design. The soft-top roof resembles the design used on the former DBS Volante, the direct successor to the Vanquish Volante; unlike the DBS Volante, which had two pushed-in rear seats, there are only two seats inside, one in the rear and one in the front.

Curiously, Aston Martin covered the top of the rear fenders with fake body panels, suggesting that a unique design treatment may be hidden here. This may have something to do with the vehicle's aerodynamics, as the Vanquish Volante appears to omit the ducktail spoiler found on the coupe.

Power for the new Vanquish is a further evolution of the 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo found in the DBS and DB11. The Vanquish delivers 824 hp, significantly more than the DBS, which delivers 715 hp in the standard version and 759 hp in the DBS Ultimate Runout Special version.

Aston Martin limits production of the Vanquish Coupe to 1,000 units per year, and a similar cap will likely apply to the Vanquish Volante.

The Vanquish line serves as the flagship of Aston Martin's front-engine lineup. However, Aston Martin plans to introduce a mid-engine Valhalla this year to top the lineup and introduce plug-in hybrid technology. The Valhalla will not feature a V-12 engine. Instead, it will use the twin-turbocharged AMG 4.0-liter V-8 shared by the Vantage and DB12.
