2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS powered up, sticker $126,895.

Porsche's Cayenne is getting a major update for 2024, and on Sunday the company announced an updated GTS grade to round out its lineup.

The model will hit dealerships this fall as a 2025 model, with both the Cayenne GTS and Cayenne GTS Coupe available at launch. Prices start at $126,895 for the regular SUV and $131,495 for the more coupe-like option. Both include a $1,995 destination charge.

Porsche's GTS grade is aimed at buyers who want something sportier than the S but are not quite ready to switch to something more hardcore or expensive like a turbo. In the case of the Cayenne, that's definitely the sweet spot, with a V-8 engine under the hood. The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine delivers 493 hp, 40 hp more than the previous GTS.

This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and drives all four wheels. According to Porsche, the SUV's Sport and Sport Plus modes offer faster transmission shift times and, combined with the engine's increased power, improved acceleration performance; 0-60 mph acceleration is claimed at 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 171 mph. [The front axle pivot bearings, in particular, are designed to increase negative camber, resulting in improved turn-in. The suspension also features air springs and dual valve dampers (both rebound and compression adjustable), 10 mm lower than the lower grades. Active roll stabilization is also available and is tuned to improve on-road performance over other grades.

Performance can be further enhanced with several weight reduction options. These include a carbon fiber roof, rear diffuser, and reduced sound insulation. Combined, these options can reduce the vehicle weight by 55 lbs.

The GTS also benefits from all the updates introduced to the Cayenne range in 2024. These affect styling, cabin technology, chassis, and more. The most notable change is the more squarely shaped LED headlights with improved illumination.

Inside, the Cayenne features a fully digital dash similar to that used in the Taycan. Gone are the traditional analog gauges in favor of a 12.7-inch digital meter cluster; a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 10.9-inch screen for the passenger seat are also available, and the gear shifter has been moved to the steering column.
