Interior of Callum Sky EV Off-roader Unveiled

Callum, named for veteran Jaguar designer Ian Callum, has unveiled the interior of its planned electric off-roader.

The first vehicle to bear the company's brand name, the Callum Sky was unveiled last November in preparation for eventual production. Callum announced clear specifications and began accepting reservations this spring, but the car's interior has yet to be revealed.

The 2+2 interior features metallic trim, with large pieces on the door panels reflecting similar shapes on the outside of the doors; a central display screen with connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included, while the raised center console incorporates physical controls such as a rotary knob, and the instrument cluster houses an old-fashioned round instrument cluster.

Callum remains committed to using sustainable materials, and while the Sky's body panels are made from flax, the interior is trimmed in leather from supplier Bridge of Weir. The designers chose a white interior to contrast the orange exterior. Cowhide leather covers the front bucket seats, the removable rear bench seat, and even the glove box.

The Sky is only 159 inches long, about the same as a Mini Cooper 4-door, and is powered by a 42 kwh battery pack that Callum estimates will give it a range of 170 miles, although it is unclear which test cycle that is based on. Also, 0-60 mph acceleration is expected to be less than 4.0 seconds.

Prices range from 80,000 to 110,000 British pounds, or about $101,000 to $138,000 at current exchange rates. Callum plans to offer “dynamic” and “capable” versions. The latter is intended for more vigorous off-road use and will be unveiled in 2025.
