2025 Hyundai Ioniq9 was teased ahead of the debut of 11/21

Hyundai confirmed on Wednesday that the Ioniq9 electric 3-column SUV will debut at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show on 11/21. Hyundai used the same event in 2021 to preview the Ioniq9 with the Seven Concept.

Hyundai announced on May 7 that the Ioniq9 will reach the U.S. as a 2025 model, but no reliable date for the start of sales has been announced. Price information has also not been released.

The name of the Ioniq9 means the vehicle as one of the largest from Hyundai. It also links vehicles with the Kia EV9, where the e-GMP dedicated EV platform will become common.

The teaser sketch shows that Ioniq9 is very similar to the line of the impressive 7 concepts. But the concept is on a long 126-inch wheelbase, and the prototype spy shot shows that the Ioniq9 is slightly shorter, possibly close to the EV9's 122-inch. The production model also skips the rear opening coach door of the concept.

The teaser image points to a lounge-like interior with 3 rows of seats. The Seven Concept had a lounge-like interior with reconfigurable seating, but has so far not been confirmed for production.

Hyundai has not confirmed the powertrain specifications of the Ioniq9, but it is likely to match the powertrain of the EV9. The Kia comes with a 76.1- or 99.8-kwh battery as well as a selection of single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive setups. The most efficient EV9 carries an estimate of an EPA rated range of 304 miles.

The high-performance EV9GT has been put into practice, and the Ioniq9 could potentially have its own n-performance option, but Hyundai has not mentioned anything.

Genesis is also testing a large electric SUV that can badge the gv90. The Genesis Neolun concept, announced on May 3, is likely to preview the design of the production model, which is expected to debut around 2026.
