Chevrolet Silverado EV Sidewinder features crack GMC's Club Walk

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV will feature its own version of GMC's Clubwalk mode, a feature not found on the electric pickup truck that debuted as the 2024 model.

Chevrolet confirmed Friday that its version of Clubwalk will be called Sidewinder Mode, a name that General Motors trademarked in 2022. The name may be different, but the function is the same. Sidewinder mode uses the Silverado EV's rear axle steering to turn all four wheels in the same direction, allowing the vehicle to travel at an angle up to 20 mph.

Sidewinder mode is activated from the “Rear Steering” page in the “Controls” menu of the Silverado EV's infotainment display. When activated, a graphic on the display and a confirmation message in the digital meter cluster informs the driver that the vehicle is ready.

This feature is standard on the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado RST, but will also be available on all 2024 Chevrolet Silverado RST First Edition models via an over-the-air update. Chevrolet said it will push that update to 2024 models remaining in dealerships and trucks already in customer hands.

Under the Club Walk name, the diagonal driving mode debuted on the GMC Hummer EV and was later offered on the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 - GMC's equivalent of the Silverado EV RST First Edition. on the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is also expected to include this feature under the brand name Cadillac Arrival Mode.

Other changes to the 2025 Silverado EV include a new LT grade that sits between the existing WT and RST models and an increase in range for these models: the WT has up to 492 miles with the larger of the two battery packs, RST is expected to have a range of up to 460 miles.
