British motorsports engineering firm RML Group is turning 40 this year and celebrating with four new projects, one for each decade of its existence. [P39 40SE is an upgrade package for the 992-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S, inspired by the LMH racing cars that compete at the top level of both the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA Sports Car Championship.

According to Michael Mallock, CEO of RML and son of founder Ray Mallock, the upgrade is based on the company's simulation data and transforms the 911 Turbo S into a track monster that outperforms the 911 GT3 RS on the race track. [This is 4.3 seconds faster than the time recorded by the 911 GT3 RS and over 30 seconds faster than the time recorded by the 911 Turbo S

. This was accomplished by replacing the ECU, turbocharger, intercooler, manifold, and exhaust system.

The body was also changed to a lighter and stiffer carbon fiber covering the front and rear wide track; according to RML, the wheelbase was also slightly extended.

The aerodynamic package is inspired by LMH racing cars and includes a drag reduction system; RML claims peak downforce at 150 mph is 1,460 pounds, or more than 4.5 times that of a normal 911 Turbo S.

P 39 40SE upgrade is priced at 495,000 British pounds ($538,200), including the donor 911 Turbo S. Three other projects that RML is unveiling as part of its 40th anniversary include a circuit car code-named “P40” that will feature F1-inspired In addition to its F1-inspired aerodynamics, the car is equipped with a high-performance battery.

The new projects are more than a celebration; they demonstrate what is possible through a new division created by RML to attract customers beyond the usual racing and OEM connections. The new division adds powertrain (including EV technology) and tailor-made personalization services to its traditional motorsports and engineering services.
