Lando Norris wins the 2024 F1 Singapore Grand Prix.

McLaren's Lando Norris took pole position.

He finished third, 20 seconds ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen and 20 seconds ahead of McLaren's Oscar Piatri.

Norris got a good start when the lights turned green at the Marina Bay Circuit, and from there he opened up a gap. Despite an incident midway through the race when he hit the wall, Norris managed to take control of the race.

Verstappen and Piastri also ran alone for most of the race, but Piastri made a brilliant move early on to move up from fifth to third, finishing ahead of George Russell in the Mercedes-Benz AMG and Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari.

Another highlight was Williams' Franco Colapinto, who added to his impressive performances in the previous rounds of the Italian and Azerbaijan GPs. Starting from 12th on the grid, Colapinto made an aggressive move to pass three cars on the inside of the first corner. Colapinto was unable to pass Red Bull's Sergio Perez and finished 11th.

In what was probably his last F1 race, RB's Daniel Ricciardo switched to soft tires at the end of the race to earn fastest lap bonus points from Norris. Although not yet confirmed, there are rumors that Ricciardo, who finished last in the Singapore Grand Prix, will be replaced by Liam Lawson for the remainder of the season.

After this weekend, Verstappen leads the 2024 drivers' championship with 331 points. Norris is second with 279 points and Leclerc is third with 245 points. McLaren leads the Constructors' Championship with 516 points. Red Bull is second with 475 points and Ferrari is third with 441 points.

The next race is the U.S. Grand Prix on October 20.
