2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series gilds classic roadster

Mercedes SL Convertible gets a Maybach version. On Friday during Monterey Car Week, the German luxury brand unveiled an ultra-luxury version of its open-top sports car, the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series.

The Monogram Series will be available in two variants: red ambience and white ambience. The former is a two-tone color, Obsidian Black Metallic over Manufacture Garnet Red Metallic, while the latter is the same black over Manufacture Moonlight White Magno (matte). The black is found only on the hood, while the clear is mixed with a base coat of red and then clear-coated to give depth to that color.

The most notable change over the standard Mercedes-Benz AMG SL is the change from a 2+2 to a two-seater roadster body style, with an aerodynamic double scoop expressed in leather behind the seats. The former rear seats are now leather upholstered storage spaces.
