Karma Plans Two Monterey Debuts, Including GT-UV Concept

California's Karma Automotive will unveil two cars at next month's 2024 Monterey Car Week.

The debut will take place on August 16 at The Quail, a motorsports gathering, and one of the cars is a concept confirmed by the EV startup on Tuesday as a GT-UV design study, which is just a code name.

The vehicle is the latest to be designed under Karma's Comet line of design language, and judging by the teaser photos released with Tuesday's announcement and the concept's code name, we're looking at some sort of sleek crossover.

Karma is a company born from the remains of the original Fisker Automotive. Its first model was the 2017 Revelo, a significantly updated plug-in hybrid from the former Fisker Karma series.

Karma still markets the Revero in an updated form, but the company is preparing to launch two high-performance EVs, a Gyesera sedan and a Kaveya sports car.

On Tuesday, Karma released design sketches showing the interior planned for the Kaveya production model. Currently, the Caveya is also being shown as a concept model, including the interior. According to Karma, the Caveya is scheduled to go on sale in 2026 and will produce up to 1,180 hp. It was originally slated for late 2025.

The Gycera is scheduled to go on sale later this year, but that date may also be delayed. The handsome sedan was unveiled as a production model at the 2024 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in March; it is powered by a 120 kwh battery, has a maximum output of 590 hp, and is expected to be priced starting at $175,000.

Karma plans to produce the new car at its plant in Moreno Valley, California, where the Revelo is built.
