Unique Pininfarina Batista honoring the 1955 Lancia Florida Concept

Pininfarina has unveiled a one-off version of the Batista, an electric hypercar designed to pay homage to the 1955 Lancia Florida Concept.

The original Florida Concept was a coupe based on the Lancia Aurelia platform (a second sedan concept was also built). It was designed by Battista Farina, founder of Pininfarina, who liked it so much that he used it as his everyday footwear.

Batista's hypercar inherited this concept and was called the Cinquanta Cinque, with the same Blue Savoia Gloss body as the show car and a contrasting Bianco Sestriere Gloss roof.

The name Cincanta Cinque means "55" in Italian, a reference to the year the concept car debuted. The words "Cinquantacinque 55" can be seen on the passenger door sill and on the underside of the rear wing.

No mechanical changes were made. Batista uses a dedicated EV platform procured from Rimac. It is powered by a T-shaped battery with a capacity of 120 kwh and four independent motors that produce a total of 1,874 hp. Owners of the Italian hypercar can expect a 0-60 mph time of less than 2 seconds and a top speed of more than 186 mph.

The Cinquanta Cinque will soon make its official debut in Tokyo, marking a new partnership with Tokyo distributor Sky Group.

Pininfarina has not stated whether the Cinquanta Cinque already has an owner.

Pininfarina design chief Dave Amantea also drew inspiration from the Florida concept when developing Pininfarina's Pura Vision concept, which was unveiled last year. Pura Vision heralds a new design language for Pininfarina's upcoming EVs, including sedans, coupes, convertibles, and SUVs.
