Koenigsegg CC850's 25-step paint maxed out on Larry Kozila's paint depth gauge

Larry Kosilla's car detailing store Ammo NYC has seen a variety of cars, but this time they are hosting something very unusual.

Kosilla has produced a number of videos on car detailing, and this time he applied his techniques to the CC850 on display at the 2022 Monterey Car Week in August. On his way from California to a presentation to a client in New York's swanky Hamptons, he stopped by Kocila's store for a refreshment.

Although this CC850 did not require as much attention as the other cars that passed through the store, Kocila gave it a thorough wash and Reflex Pro enamel coating.

Speaking of paint, the CC850's 25-step paint job maxed out Kossila's paint depth gauge. Thinner areas of paint need to be handled more delicately, but that is not a problem here. Koenigsegg specializes in elaborate paint jobs, and the Jesco show car at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show had 34 layers of paint.

The CC850 is a reworking of Koenigsegg's first production car, the CC8S The CC850 is a reworking of Koenigsegg's first production car, the CC8S, with styling cues from the CC8S but with Koenigsegg's current 5.0-liter V-8 twin turbo and tuned to deliver 1,169 hp on regular gasoline and 1,366 hp on E85 fuel. This V-8 engine is paired with a new version of Koenigsegg's Lightspeed transmission, which can switch between a nine-speed automatic mode and a six-speed manual mode (with clutch pedal).

Koenigsegg originally planned a production quota of 50 units, which sold out in record time after the CC850's Monterey debut. As a result, some customers missed out on their production slots. However, CEO Christian von Koenigsegg still expects that the demand will not be met, as the CC850's exclusive ambiance will be maintained.
