Ruf Ultimate is currently based in the United States.

Of Ruf's many creations, the retro-styled Ultimate is one of the rarest. Ruf is perhaps most famous for the original 1987 CTR "Yellowbird," and the Ultimate is a tribute to that car; unveiled in 2016, the car is based on a 993-generation Porsche 911 chassis, but the carbon-fiber bodywork, its appearance harkens back to the early Yellow Bird.

In a way, the Ultimate was a precursor to the CTR Anniversary presented in 2017. With this car, Ruf went even further, designing his own carbon fiber tub rather than using an existing chassis. Like the Ultimate, the CTR Anniversary had carbon fiber bodywork that replicated the appearance of the original CTR Yellowbird.

The Ultimate was powered by a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six that produced 582 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. When new, Ruf claimed a top speed of 211 mph.

Ruf has continued the retro theme since launching the Ultimate and CTR Anniversary; for 2018, the SCR, like the CTR Anniversary, features a custom-built carbon fiber chassis and a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six producing 510 hp.

And in 2020, Ruf unveiled a restomod version of its 964-based RCT, dubbed the RCT Evo, also based on the 964-generation 911 and powered by an air-cooled, turbocharged flat-six like the original RCT. However, according to Ruf, this latest version delivers 425 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque and is capable of a top speed of 199 mph. The company also offers restomod options for most other Porsche sports cars, from the 356 to the 993-generation 911.
