The 750-horsepower 2022 GMC Syclone SVE will shake you like a hurricane.

New Jersey-based tuner Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) is giving its 750-horsepower mid-size pickup truck an encore.

The truck is SVE's modernized version of the GMC Cyclone, based on the current GMC Canyon; SVE launched the Cyclone in 2019 with a 455-hp supercharged V-6, followed by a 750-hp supercharged V-8 in 2021. Production was limited to 50 units, but SVE plans to produce another 50 units for the 2022 model year.

As before, the Muscle will be powered by General Motors' L83 5.3-liter V-8, which also produces 600 lb-ft of torque. The engine features an aluminum block, forged internals, custom cylinder heads, a high-flow fuel system, and a high-flow stainless steel exhaust; it drives all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

SVE also upgraded the suspension, lowering the ride height and adding new bushings and heavy-duty rear sway bars. The Syclone gets six-piston front brake calipers and 13.6-inch front rotors, but uses stock rear brakes; 20-inch wheels are fitted with Nitto NT420V 275/54R20 tires front and rear.

Styling changes include a vented hood, customer rocker panels, "Syclone" badging, and prominent dual exhaust tips. The interior was dressed up with a leather package, new floor mats, and a serial numbered dash plate.

The original 1991 GMC Syclone was powered by a turbocharged 4.3-liter V-6 instead of a V-8, but at the time of its launch, this tuned GMC Sonoma was still the fastest, accelerating from 0-60 mph in just under 4.5 seconds. GMC later introduced the same The same formula was used to create the Typhoon SUV, but the company soon gave up on muscle trucks. The current GMC Canyon AT4 is focused on off-road driving, as is the upcoming GMC Hummer EV, the latter of which claims a 0-60 mph acceleration of 3.0 seconds.
